— THE AUTHOR —
Hello, I’m Syakier. I make quiet pictures of loud places.
A Malaysian travel photographer based in Kuala Lumpur — documenting the slow parts of Asia, one frame at a time.

— THE STORY —
How a working adult from Melaka started chasing light.
I never planned to be a travel photographer. I work a regular 9-to-5 in Melaka. The camera was supposed to be a hobby — something to do on weekends. Then I took it to Taipei in 2024, and something changed.
It wasn’t the famous spots. It was the way the light fell through the morning steam at a noodle stall in Ximending. The way an old man on a scooter smiled at his wife as they passed me. The way Jiufen looked at dawn before the buses came.
I started keeping a journal. Not for anyone — just for me. Then friends asked for itineraries. Then strangers on Instagram asked about the cafés. This blog is what happens when I stop holding it in.
